Valentine Trio for Kids

www.cardztv.blogspot.com is featuring a challenge for Valentines for kids. Here are my entries. I found all of these animals on the Sweethearts cartridge. A Spellbinders die was just the right size for the 3 x 3" cards. Hope these take you back to pleasant memories of your childhood.

Birdhouse Thank You

I'm indebted to some special people for their recent acts of kindness. The lastest in my attempts to thank them is this simple but cute birdhouse card. It's just right for that person who loves birds, birdhouses, or nature. Hope you like it.

Stroller Baby Card

A sweet little card for a sweet little person. This card uses the circle feature on New Arrival to create the cute and simple stroller cutout. Add some soft papers, a few metallic dots, and a quick sentiment, and you're finished.  Thanks for watching. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

One Cute Frog, Two "Toad"ally Cards

I love frog / toad cuts that can work well in the expression "toad"ally. Create a Critter has a really cute one.  Dress it up or down, make the sentiment "'toad'ally sorry" or "'toad'ally happy," whatever you need. Hope these ideas from part 18 of the challenge are "'toad'ally helpful."

Lovebirds Congratulations

After a few days' lapse, I'm back with part 12 of my challenge. This card, done in soft green and pink, features 2 "lovey doveys." The card is a 5 x 5" square. One of the green papers is shimmer paper. The pink is fabric. I used Kraft paper for the brown cage and white for the doves, which I embossed with a Cuttlebug herringbone folder. I used Martha Stewart's loop punch for the edges. This love-themed card would be perfect for anniversary or wedding occasions. Enjoy both the picture and the video. I love comments.

Happy Birthday in Navy, Turquoise, and Lime

This is my entry for the Casual Fridays challenge.  The flowers are stamped in white, then chalked over the white to help them stand out from the navy. Elegant Edges cut the frame and shadow. I also stamped the border print. Cuttlebug Swiss dots give texture to the mat and border. The sentiment is computer generated, cut with a window punch and place on ribbon and a mat. I really like this color combination, although I have to admit, I was skeptical.

"It's a Boy" Card

Part 3 (although the video says 4) of my "Use Your Cartidges" challenge to myself features Beyond Birthdays--and includes New Arrival. I love the baby on this card. Hope you enjoy it.  Next cartridge up is Paper Doll Dress Up.

Just me thinking of You, All-occasion card--Video

Just me, thinking of You, for Freshly Made Sketches

This is the first in my "Challenge Myself to Make a Card with Each of My Cricut Cartridges" challenge. Alphbetically first for me is "Accent Essentials." I used the eighth cut on the key pad and included three layers in each flower. The round flowers worked well for the current Freshly Made Sketches challenge.The white mat is embossed the Wild Dashes folder from Sizzix. The zig zig is cut from pink paper using Plantin Schoolbook. The sentiment, "Just me, thinking of You," is from TPC Studio. Hope you enjoy it. Masculine birthday card

I'm back from vacation just in time to make a send and few masculine b'day cards (three birthdays this week). The first is a red, white, blue theme with a classic bike on it.  The stamps are from Studio 211, and the ink from Tsukineko. The stripe paper is from Paper Studio. I'm putting it in the Freshly Made Sketches contest. After I stamped the bicycle, I ran it and the red strip through a Cuttlebug herringbone embossing folder.

"Thinking of You" Card for Freshly Made Sketches, 41

     I featured one of my favorite color combinations--red, white, black--in this "thinking of you" card.  The flower is made from petals by Spare Parts (Hobby Lobby). I punched a smaller red flower and added a white one behind it.  I embossed the white sections with a Sizzix embossing folder, then added a red / white ribbon over the black section. The stamp is from Hampton Arts. After I had stamped and punched the sentiment with a window punch, I ran it through the same folder, matching it up with the background behind it. Small red gemstones on flowers in the embossed section and a larger white one for the center of the silk flower complete the card.

Baby Animals Welcome Baby Card

I saw some so cute Stampabilites stamps just  recently and bought them because of the adorable elephant in the set. Here is the result. I added a giraffe and a bear, used colors that would work for either a boy or a girl, and created this welcome card. Hope you like it.

Today's cards are two using the same photo, once in color and once in black and white. I used one from Printmaster, but you could use one of your own and make the card even more personal. These cards also combined a sketch, #39 from Freshly made Sketches, and ideas from the May issue of Cardmaker Magazine.  Have fun with photos. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
